If you are currently working on any Oracle certifications, then you got a big surprise on March 1, 2010. If you went to register for an exam after March 1 like I did then you already know it. Oracle raised most of the exams fees. In general, exams that had previous cost $95 are now $125, and exams costing $125 are now $195. When I went to register for my 1z0-052 exam I thought I was just a bit confused. The more I thought about it I knew the prices were wrong. So I started check and as it turns out Oracle posted the price changes on their website.....February 25! (Link below) Come on Oracle, 1 week notice!!! I know you decided to raise the fees long ago, how about a little more notice. I could have save $70 taking my exam a few days early. This makes is seem like a ploy to make some extra cash, I know everyone is hurt these days, but seriously, a little more notice please.
Hey Larry, did you need a bigger boat? Oh wait, profits are down 7%. I wonder if a 56% increase in exams fees ends up being a 7% increase in profit.
