*Developed company website using open-source software, including Joomla and Open-Realty. Researched product capabilities, local real estate regulations, and customer needs; used product customizations, as well as custom Python and shell scripts, Apache, and MySQL to replace previous site and saving more than $3300 annually. Developed custom real estate IDX system to display real estate listings to the general public in order to download, convert, and insert more than 30,000 records into corporate website.

INSTALLED, CONFIGURED, AND MAINTAINED ORACLE 7 AND 8 DATABASES running on UNIX and Windows NT and responsible for development, quality control (QC), and production support. Headquartered in Charlotte, NC, LIS was a global provider of automated warehouse management systems and supply-chain event management solutions. The company served manufacturers, distributors, and retailers on four continents and provided customized software solutions for clients with multiple locations.

 

MANAGED SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS providing warehouse management software for multiple clients throughout software development lifecycle (SDLC), including design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and customer support. Interfaced with client management and technical staff to define project scope, business requirements, and deliverables. Created Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for client corporate warehouse procedures to identify software requirements.

 

HIRED, TRAINED, AND MANAGED TEAM OF 10 SOFTWARE ENGINEERS. Developed work schedules; made work assignments, aligning appropriate human resources with project milestones. Conducted software training for operators and staff during software rollout process.

 

LED DEVELOPMENT TASKS, using C, Java, PL/SQL, Oracle Pro*C, shell scripts, Oracle, and Informix. Designed and developed EDI connectivity to clients Mainframe, AS400, HP-UX, Linux, Windows systems. Created UNIX scripts.

 

DEVELOPED PROCESS RECOMMENDATIONS. Served as technical advisor for company during responses to Request for Proposals (RFP). Conducted site visits and site-specific sales presentation to demonstrate software solutions tailored to customers' specific requirements. Conducted studies of customer work processes and functions to develop process recommendations allowing customers to adopt new technologies.

 

CUSTOMER SUPPORT/SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION: Provided 24-7, upper-tier customer support, responding to 15-30 queries monthly at peak. Managed maintenance of 20 PCs, 10 laptops, 3 servers, a PBX, T-1 CSU/DSU, and Cisco 2500 router internally. Monitored operations of 25 client servers. Configured all new devices. Monitored all network information security for internal systems. Configured and maintained internal WAN and LAN include DNS, TCP/IP, LDAP, sendmail, and HP LTO backup library. DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR: Served as Oracle DBA responsible for installing, configuring, backup and recovery, data loading, and tuning both internal development and customer production Oracle databases on UNIX and NT. Conducted Data Center setup of T-1, Cisco 2500 IOS router, Checkpoint Firewall, hardware.

*Served as IT Project Lead for warehouse management software deal worth $3.1 million for major food distributor shipping more than $1 billion worth of products annually from 4 distribution sites. Collaborated with company IT staff and management to identify requirements and processes and then design appropriate interface, procedures, communications, and other features. Directed 4-6 developers, testers, and other staff; served as liaison throughout project lifecycle, including training warehouse managers on new system.

 

*Served as IT Project Lead for $2 million contract with Armstrong World Industries, a major manufacturer of rolled vinyl flooring. Conducted site visits and collaborated with client representatives to identify unique customer needs. Designed and led 4 developers in creating warehouse management system that interfaced with company's SAP system. Spent two weeks on-site to provide oversight for Go-Live of new system.

 

*Served as IT project lead for 3M contract. Met with client project management, site managers and staff to define, develop, implement, and test software to support unique customer requirements for a new warehouse horizontal carousel system. Designed, developed, and tested communications system to integrate WMS with Allen-Bradley PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) carousel controller using PLC software written for another system. Despite lack of documentation and bugs in old code, successfully learned PLC language to create interface software that met client's business requirements.
